Hair Transplantation
The hair transplantation is a real transplantation technique. It is a process that is taking out the healthy and strong hair from the proper part of the body and transplanting them into the right area.
It has been tried to find many different techniques to prevent the loss of hair by some techniques since 1950. The determination of follicular unite is a kind of revolution in hair transplantation in early 1990s. The FUT method became popular in the hair transplantation in those years. The hair transplantation by FUE method was firstly introduced by Dr Russmann in 2002. FUE method has been very popular since then, and it is being performed both in our country and in the world. The rate of our transplantation is almost by FUE method.
Besides this the tarnsplantation of eyebrow,eyelash,beard and taking out hair from the other hair in the different regions of the body has been possibble.
The most popular hair transplantation method today is Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). The operation does not require the use of a scalpel (For Strip Method FUT). Therefore, it does not leave any operation mark or scar on donor area. FUE involves using micro-motors to harvest individual hair follicles called micro- grafts from the back of head between the two ears called donor area, where genetically resistance of hair loss, and placed into the channels that are opened by doctor with using lateral slit technique (fine-tipped needles )
There is advantage of the FUE method is that the maximum number of grafts is obtained in a single session. The duration of hair transplantation depends on the severity of hair loss. The need for grafting and therefore the duration of the operation increases with the size of the area where hair loss occurs. An operation of hair transplantation generally lasts for 5 to 6 hours. As the head is locally anaesthetized before the operation, the patient does not feel pain during the operation.
